What can NADH do for you?

You may have heard about the popular supplement coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), but you may not yet know about NADH, or coenzyme Q1. Here’s why you may want an introduction!

What’s in a name?

CoQ10 and CoQ1 are related, but don’t get them confused. CoQ10 is an important antioxidant found in living cells—including in our bodies, where it helps our cells make energy. Unfortunately, its levels decrease as we age. Those with certain degenarative diseases, often have reduced levels as well. NADH (or Coenzyme Q1), is also involved in the cell’s energy processes. In fact, NADH actually helps convert CoQ10 into its fully functioning antioxidant self.

NADH is enzymatically converted to NAD+ which is again converted to NADH. Each NADH-NAD-NADH cycle releases ATP, the energy molecule needed by the mytochondria.

Here are all of the amazing things that NADH can do for you!

Help keep your mind and memory alert and sharp

Researchers are discovering how NADH may help treat patients with cognitive problems in particular as we age—slowing the deterioration of cognitive function in comparison to subjects who didn’t receive NADH supplementation.

Do you wake up in the morning with a "foggy" brain? Your brain cells may lack energy. Take one capsule of NADH+ as soon as you get up and start the day sharp.

Combat symptoms of jet lag

In a 2002 study, supplemental NADH improved symptoms of jet lag, including sleepiness and cognitive functioning. Take 1-2 capsules of NADH+ when you land. Perfect for summertime travel plans!

Help fend off chronic fatigue

Chronic fatigue syndrome can be a debilitating experience for sufferers. A new clinical trial found NADH supplementation to help improve fatigue in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome.

Impressed? You should be! Our supplement NADH+ is carefully formulated with both NADH and CoQ10. Keep in mind that you should always speak to your health care practitioner to find out if a new supplement is right for you.
