What is it
Vitamin K2 regulates Calcium and Phosphorus metabolism, and reduces the risk of bone loss and cardiovascular disease.
Our Vitamin K2 Forte provides both forms of this vitamin, and it is synergistically associated with the minerals Boron and Manganese as well as Vitamin D3 to enhance Calcium deposits into the bones.
Vitamin K is ubiquitous to human body, which produces it in the gut by bacterial fermentation of ingested foods. However, the most common foods are not a sufficient source for the production of Vitamin K2.
There are 2 important forms of Vitamin K2: Menaquinone-4 (MK-4) and Menaquinone-7 (MK-7). From food sources, MK-4 can be found in egg yolk, butter and meat, while MK-7 can be found in beef liver and in fermented foods such as Natto. In the human body, Menaquinone-4 is present mostly in organs and in particular in the liver while Menaquinone-7 can be found throughout the body and in the blood.
A clinical study (the Rotterdam study) indicated that supplementation with vitamin K2 reduces the risk of Coronary Heart Disease.

MK-4 form of Vitamin K2 prevents the hardening of the arteries (due to Calcium deposits).
MK-7 form of Vitamin K2 directs the Calcium towards the bones, preventing Osteoporosis.
